These terms cover the Books Done Fast software (the "Software") and the booksdonefast.com website. By downloading, buying, or using the Software you agree to them. They're written to be read, not to trap you.

The trial

You may download and run the Software without buying it to evaluate it. The trial shows a reminder banner until a license key is entered.

Your license

When you buy a license key you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software for the bookkeeping of businesses you own or operate, on any number of computers you control. A license is for one person. If you want several people in a business to each have the Software on their own computer, each needs a license, or contact us for a team arrangement.

You may not resell, sublicense, or share your license key, or attempt to circumvent the license check. You may not reverse-engineer or redistribute the Software.

Updates

Your license key works with all future versions of the Software released after your purchase. Updates are provided as new downloads from the website; the Software does not update itself or check for updates.

Your data

Everything you enter into the Software is stored in files on your own computer. You own those files. The Software never transmits them anywhere, and we have no access to them. Keeping backups is your responsibility; the Software includes a one-click backup to help.

No professional advice

The Software is a bookkeeping tool. It is not accounting, tax, or legal advice. Reports it produces depend on how you categorize your transactions, and you are responsible for reviewing them, with a professional where appropriate, before relying on them.

Warranty and liability

The Software is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it correct and reliable, and we fix bugs you report, but we do not guarantee it is free of errors or will meet every requirement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Software is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of data or profits.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
